I have done it. I have finally sat behind the wheel of my car. It did feel strange but the first time I hit the road it was in the early hours of the morning so there was very little traffic. So far, so good. I have got used to the speed the traffic moves at and feel happier with everyone and everything being so close, relative to the open ocean. My only issue was remembering directions, but a few extra laps of the roundabout is no bad thing!
Sleep is still a little bit of an issue. To change back to sleeping in one go over night rather than resting or cat napping throughout the day has been more difficult to adjust back to than I had anticipated. I have still not slept for more than five hours in one hit and generally tend to average four hours. I am able to wake up immediately rather than having a dozy few minutes until the shower wakes me up. Due to spending all day awake and not sleeping through at night I generally tend to get tired in the middle of the afternon when a twenty minute sleep would be beneficial. I am sure it is only a matter of time before I revert back to my eight hours a night once more but we shall see. At least being awake early is allowing me to get jobs done.
I am very slowly managing to catch with friends and family, but there are still so many friends to thank for messages that I need to contact. This will happen in time but again I beg for your patience. I will try and catch up with everyone.
